The Prospect of Whitby

We walked from Canary Wharf towards the centre of London and passed this pub. It is the Prospect of Whitby pub in Wapping along the river Thames in april 2019. The pub is a riverside pub dating back from 1520. There is said to be an original flagstone floor in the building.

Roman causeway across the vallum

We went to England in 2017 to explore Hadrian´s wall in Northumbria in England. This is Benwell Vallum Crossing at Newcastle upon Tyne in northeastern England. The vallum was at the border between the Roman empire and the lands to the north. The wall was built by the Romans in the second decade AC. The picture is taken april 2017.

More information about the crossing can be found on English Heritage.

Book shop in Tideswell

A memory from an evening walk when we stayed the night in Tideswell in the peak district. The shops had closed for the night but I found this window display interesting. The letters in the windows are cut out from book pages.
