I arrived to Nagoya in Japan in the beginning of april 2013 to visit my son that lived there at the time. The second day in Japan my son took my to see the flowering Sakura along Yamazaki river. A lot of people were celebrating hanami and the streets were full of people.
At first I thought this was giant graffiti but it is a part of the Osu Kannon Temple in Nagoya. Or more correctly the paintings act as a backdrop to the temple. The demon also stand guard as statues by the temple entrance. To see one of them look here.
A treasured memory from my first journey to visit my son who lived there at the time. The day after I arrived in the beginning of april 2013 he took me on a walk along Yamazaki River to look at the famous flowering Sakura trees. Lot of people walked along the canal to celebrate the hanami season when the cherry trees blossom. The picture has been published on one of my other blogs.
